Sedona Mago Welcomed 2020 with a New Year’s Eve Celebration

Sedona Mago Welcomed 2020 with a New Year’s Eve Celebration

Out with the old – In with the new! A New Year’s Eve ritual at Sedona Mago Center for Well-being and Retreat allowed those who attended an opportunity to set their intentions for the new year.

Those who gathered together with us on New Year’s Eve celebrated the new year and a new decade by reflecting on their past and setting their intentions for a bright future.

The New Year’s Eve Retreat began with a reflective meditation. Following the meditation, MJ Kim led QiGong, an ancient Korean exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing, and movement exercises. Its purpose was to open up energy channels and prepare the participants for Sound Healing with Ilchibuko Todd. The sounds of singing bowls and wind chimes resonated within each person as they focused on their chakras, allowing themselves to vibrate with the energy of the universe. It was a time for healing as they released lingering emotions from the past and limiting beliefs that kept them from being the person they truly are. Most felt the light as they released the old energy from within themselves.

Afterward, the group went outside and participated in a starlight meditation and bonfire. Each wrote things that they wanted to let go of, and placed their pieces of paper into the fire, as they released all negativity into the universe. Expressing gratitude and honoring the new incoming year, Ilchibuko struck the gong 21 times at midnight. During this ceremonial ritual, the participants made a wish with a renewed sense of purpose to fulfill their dreams and aspirations for 2020.

Together they connected with their true essence, awakening the divine nature within as they welcomed all new things for the new year.

Our participants found the New Year’s Eve Retreat to be a transformative experience:

“I wanted to do something for New Year’s Eve that was different from the traditional, melancholy celebration. I wanted to do something that would allow me to set my intention for the rest of the year. Sedona Mago was the perfect place to do this with guidance from Ilchibuko. The training I have done with her has always been powerful. To have her as an anchor and to come back to this retreat is very important to me. Sedona Mago is such a magical place where you can focus, shift your energy, and ground yourself. Not only that, you are surrounded by such a beautiful environment that is so close to Sedona. It was a great way to start the year and a new decade.” ~ Christian

“My experience was transformative. I was a little hesitant at first. I opened myself up, did some of the work, received guidance, and felt that I was well equipped to handle the New Year. Ilchibuko is incredibly powerful. You can feel her presence. She is so eloquent and a good guide. She kept me focused. I love being here at Sedona Mago. The sunrise meditation was my favorite part of bringing in the New Year.” ~ Jay
