Guest Guidelines

We are delighted that you have chosen to stay with us!


Check-in is at 4 pm – Programs typically begin with dinner at 5:30 pm and ends after breakfast on the last day. Arrive early enough so that you can have dinner and settle into your room. If you are arriving after 6:00 pm, please eat before your arrival.

If you are checking-in after 7:30 pm, please call the Welcome Center at 928.204.3391 to make arrangements for a late check-in. Please note our after hours number is 928.274.0439.


Check-out is at 12:00 noon – Participants are welcome to stay on the property until 5 pm and store their luggage at the Welcome Center. If you require a later checkout time, contact the Welcome Center.


Our meals are pesco-vegetarian (fish and dairy are included) and served buffet style. If you have food allergies or a restricted diet, we ask that you bring your own snacks or supplements to ensure proper nutrition. A mini-refrigerator is provided in each room and a microwave and icemaker is available onsite. Cooking is not allowed in guest rooms.

  • Lunch – 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Dinner – 5:30 – 7:00 pm


We have single, double, and triple accommodations based on availability. If you request a double room, we will room you with another person of the same gender. If you have a roommate request please do so at least one week in advance. All rooms are supplied with bed linens, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a refrigerator. Hair dryers and alarm clocks are not supplied, but may be available at the Welcome Center.

Welcome Center

The Welcome Center is open from 8:00 am – 7:30 pm daily and houses the front desk and gift shop. In our gift shop you can buy toiletries, snacks, clothing items, and healing tools. We accept credit cards and personal checks; there is no onsite ATM so bring enough cash for your stay. Adjacent to the Welcome Center is Fellowship Lounge, open 24 hours a day.

Cell Phones

The cell phone carrier with the strongest reception is Verizon Wireless; all other carriers have medium to minimal reception.  There is a public phone that dials out locally and phone cards are available for purchase at the Welcome Center.

Alcohol-Free, Smoke-Free & Meat-Free Facility

Sedona Mago Retreat is an alcohol-free, smoke-free, and meat-free facility.

Local Medical Services

The nearest medical facility and/or pharmacy is in Cottonwood, 30 minutes away.  If you take medication bring an ample supply so that you can administer to your own needs.


We are located in the middle of the desert and you may encounter various wildlife such as insects and lizards. We advise that you close your door tightly to avoid unwelcome visitors in your room.

Pet Policy

Pets, except for service animals, are not allowed at Sedona Mago Retreat. If you have a service animal, please notify the Welcome Center in advance.


Some guests may be sensitive to smells and scented products can attract wildlife. Please bring no-scent or low-scent toiletries and refrain from using scented products.

For safety reasons, refrain from burning candles, incense, or moxa in guest rooms.

Sedona Mago Retreat is not responsible for lost, stolen, or missing items. Please take personal precautions with your own valuables.
