COVID-19 Guidelines for Your Stay
Sedona Mago Center for Well-Being and Retreat is committed to the health of our guests and staff. We are grateful to be able to continue to offer our transformative experiences while following all CDC and Arizona public health protocols. Our health protocols are being monitored and updated with CDC and Arizona Health Protocols.
As we navigate through the ever-changing COVID requirements, management has decided to make changes to our arrival policy for everyone’s safety. These updates are required for all guests to have the best spiritual experience while attending our property and optimal programs. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We have adjusted our arrival policy:
- Provide a negative COVID test administered no more than 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival regardless of having the vaccination or not. At-Home Rapid Tests are accepted with Date and Timestamp. We have rapid tests available onsite, please contact the welcome center for availability.
- Do Not Travel if:
- You are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms
- You tested positive for COVID-19. Isolation recommendations for Mago are more precautious and recommend a minimum of 14 days of isolation before coming to Sedona Mago.
- You have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 and haven’t ended quarantine. Quarantine recommendations for Sedona Mago are more precautious and recommend a minimum of 10 days quarantine before coming to Sedona Mago.
- You are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test because you have symptoms.
- Pass temperature check of less than 100 F upon arrival.
- Wear medical Grade Mask (Blue Masks) or equivalent in all shared guest areas including the Welcome Center and Dining Hall. Masks in outdoor areas are not required. Mask policies in your classroom are at the teacher’s discretion at this time.

Negative COVID Test
Please provide a negative COVID test result, whether paper or electronic, upon arrival at the retreat center. Tests should be conducted no earlier than three (3) days prior to arrival. All versions of negative test results are accepted including the at-home rapid COVID 19 antigen test. Date and timestamp are required for at-home testing, recommending using your cellphone date stamp the testing. There is a limited supply of rapid COVID 19 antigen tests available for purchase at the welcome center for $20. We however recommend that you get tested prior to arriving, testing positive while onsite means we will deny your arrival and you will need to leave the retreat center. All guests are required to provide a negative COVID test result for the welcome center to accept their reservations.
Prior to Arrival: If you were exposed to COVID-19 within the last 10 days.
All guests who had close contact with a person with COVID-19 within the last 10 days will not be welcomed. If you know or believe that someone you had close contact with within the last 10 days has COVID-19 please reschedule your stay until a later day. Guests who have questions should contact the welcome center via email or phone.
Prior to Arrival: Positive COVID test results or previously tested positive or COVID like symptoms
All guests who test positive for COVID and/or have a current infection will not be welcomed. Guests should contact the welcome center via email or phone to reschedule their program.
If you tested positive for COVID and/or had COVID-like symptoms in the past, we will still require a negative COVID test conducted within three (3) days of your arrival.
Prior to your visit, please make sure you are not experiencing any COVID symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, loss of taste and/or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Upon arrival, there will be a screening process that includes a questionnaire and temperature check. Any guests with COVID-like symptoms upon arrival will be asked to leave.

After Arrival: COVID-like symptoms
All guests and staff are responsible for the health and well-being of all guests and staff at Sedona Mago. During your stay at Sedona Mago, we ask that you monitor and check your self condition. Mindfulness and awareness of your body can mitigate and help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we need your assistance.
If you develop COVID-like symptoms during your stay at Sedona Mago, please contact the welcome center or coordinator immediately. You will need to self-isolate immediately, we do have COVID rapid tests onsite for emergencies at $20 a test. If positive, you will receive a prorated refund for the accommodations costs and be asked to leave the property immediately. Sedona Mago does not have a doctor / medical team on the property and it is in your best interest to relocate yourself to town, where medical assistance is more readily available. You can go to the ER, local hotel, or return home.
Please respect this policy as you wouldn’t want another guest in your program to stay and potentially transmit COVID to you and other guests. Therefore, we ask that you please be mindful and take care of your medical situation off-site. We are taking every step possible to prevent COVID at Mago and this includes required weekly onsite testing for all staff. All guests are required to provide a negative COVID test within 3 days of arrival, but cannot account for contact during travel to Mago. Therefore we are not responsible for your medical bills but will be glad to provide a prorated refund.
This policy is effective immediately and shall remain in effect until August 31, 2022. Sedona Mago reserves the right to adjust and change our policies as needed. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you.

We ask while shopping to practice conscious social distancing, wear medical-grade masks, and be mindful of Mago staff and others.
Open 24 hours to gather and relax. Amenities include computers with internet access, Wi-Fi (“Tao-Guest” no password needed), a printer, bathrooms, water, and tea. There is a free public phone available in the Welcome Center lobby for local calls.
Meals will be served cafeteria-style. After eating, you can bring your tray to the busing station. Please be mindful and respectful of other guests and adhere to social distancing and wear medical-grade masks indoors while not eating. The dining hall is only open during mealtimes. Please do not take dishes or silverware from the dining hall. *If you registered with special dietary needs, please check with the kitchen at each meal. Please refer to your group schedule for specified group mealtimes.
